MILTON — Not snow, not cold, not even COVID-19 was going to put a stop to Milton's Annual Winter Festival.
Though some things were different this year, Milton Recreation still managed to plan and host a multi-day festival last weekend chock full of both virtual and in-person events.
On Saturday morning, "Winter Wag," a dog social and talent contest, was held at the Milton Dog Park. Participants earned take-home treats and a trophy was up for grabs.
Later that day, people gathered at Arrowhead Golf Course for an afternoon of free access to the trails. Visitors explored on foot, on snowshoes, on cross-country skis and on fat bikes. Hot cocoa and light refreshments were served.
At Sharp Park on Sunday, families enjoyed free sledding and discounted sled rentals. Some even competed in the beloved cardboard sled competition. Trophies were handed out for the quickest sleds and also the best decorated.
Many more events took place curbside or virtually over the weekend.
