MILTON — About 200 community members gathered in Bombardier Park on Tuesday night for week two of Milton Recreation's Music in the Park series.
VT Bluegrass Pioneers performed on the stage of the Milton Outdoor Performance Center, and Matt Mullen provided food and lawn games.
Assistant Recreation Director Benjamin Nappi said many of this summer's musical acts are the same as in years past. They were eager to perform, he said, after the pandemic cancelled most concerts and live shows.
On Tuesday evening, community members danced and sang along to a banjo-inflected cover of Bobby Darin's "Dream Lover." Others played giant Jenga and corn hole and ate fresh ribbon fries.
Next week, Troy Millette and The Fire Below will perform. Community members are also encouraged to bring along canned goods and non-perishables to be donated to the Milton Family Community Center's food shelf. Monetary donations will also be accepted.
Mullen and has 9-year-old daughter will give away free popcorn to those who donate.
Music in the Park continues at 6 p.m. every Tuesday night until Aug. 31. Bring along folding chairs and see who is performing.
