SOUTH BURLINGTON — Milton entered its final regular-season football game needing an upset to get into the Division II playoffs, but second-ranked Rice dominated for a 36-8 victory last Saturday.

The Green Knights, assured of the second seed behind undefeated Burr & Burton, scored all of its points in the first half behind quarterback Chris Jansen, who threw two touchdown passes. Anthony Phillip scored on two long plays, one a pass from Jansen and the other a run.

Milton scored its only points of the afternoon when Cole Reilly  hit Ian Kandzior with a 17-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter.

The Yellowjackets finished fifth in the Division II standings at 3-5.
