No one was seriously injured in a hunting accident in Milton on Sunday evening, police said.

Officers responded to Cadreact Road around 5:15 p.m. November 15 for a report of a male shot in the arm, a press release said.

Milton Rescue transported Dylan Morgan, 26, of Milton to the University of Vermont Medical Center for what police say was an apparent accidental, minor grazing wound from a bullet fragment.

Police said Morgan’s girlfriend, Shomeret Chevalier, 22, of Milton discharged the firearm when she was unloading it for safe transport. Police have filed no criminal charges at this time, and Morgan has since been released from the hospital, Cpl. Chris Grenier said.

Game wardens from the Vermont Department of Fish & Wildlife are assisting in the investigation, which is still ongoing, police said.
