All Weekend

Milton is holding an Ice Out contest. Guess when the ice will thaw enough for a cinder block to fall through at Arrowhead Mountain Lake. Tickets are just $1 apiece with the winner -- whoever guesses the closest date and time the block falls -- will receive 50% of ticket sales; the other 50% will go to funding Milton’s Independence Day celebration. They will be available at Bombardier Park West from 4-6 p.m. Friday, at Frey’s Family Deli & Convenience Store, at Raj Liquor & Beverage in Middle Road Market, and online at

Pick up a foodie passport on Friday for local specials all weekend long. It can be used at Arrowhead Lodge, Bri's Fries, Frey’s Family Deli, the Milton Diner, Madeleine’s Bakery, and Lakelife Nutrition. Once you visit three or more locations, you will be recognized as a Locavore Hero in the Town Municipal Building. Passports will be available from 4-6 p.m. at Bombardier Park West, online at, or at any of the participating eateries.

Take part in a self-guided nature walk and scavenger hunt at Milton Town Forest. The Milton Conservation Commission has created a three-mile route that uses QR codes for the scavenger hunt, so make sure to bring your cell phone to learn some new facts while exploring nature.

Ice skating at Bombardier Park West, as well as snowshoeing and cross-country skiing at all parks and natural areas, will be an option for exercise -- weather permitting.
