The Milton Police Department responded to 85 incidents between Feb. 5-11. Here is a selection of those incidents.

Friday, Feb. 5

3:56 a.m. East Area

Cpl. Coulombe patrolled town streets enforcing Milton’s winter parking ban. It is unlawful to park a vehicle on a public highway from Dec. 1 through April 1 between the hours of midnight and 8 a.m. Vehicles parked in violation of the ban may be warned, ticketed, or towed.

3:45 p.m. US Route 7 South

Cpl. Grenier responded to a complaint of a vehicle being operated erratically. He located the vehicle and spoke with the operator who advised he was having an argument with his passenger which may have caused the reported operation. The operator was evaluated for possible impairment but was determined to not be impaired by alcohol or drugs.

Saturday, Feb. 6

4:13 p.m. West Milton Road/Orr Lane

Officers responded to a single vehicle crash on West Milton Road. The vehicle had gone off the road and rolled onto its side. The operator did not report any injuries. Investigation revealed the crash was caused by speed and the operator misjudging a curve.

Sunday, Feb. 7

9:53 p.m. Owen Court

Officer Bosworth and Sgt. LaFountain responded to a dispute between roommates. The dispute started when the roommates’ cats were not getting along. The officers determined no crime had occurred and the roommates agreed to separate themselves and their cats for the evening.

Monday, Feb. 8

7:16 a.m. Rebecca Lander Drive

School Resource Officer Raymond assisted in teaching a driver’s education class. She spoke about traffic stops and motor vehicle crashes.

1:41 p.m. Saint George Road

Sgt. Locke, a drug recognition expert, assisted a Vermont State Police trooper with an evaluation of a suspected impaired driver.

9:23 p.m. Arrowhead Lake Road/Georgia Mountain Road

Cpl. Coulombe assisted the Vermont State Police with a vehicle that had gone off the road on Arrowhead Mountain Lake Road in Georgia. He stayed with the vehicle until a trooper arrived.

Tuesday, Feb. 9

7:36 p.m. US Route 7/Cherry Street

Cpl. Coulombe stopped a vehicle for a violation and determined the passenger had an arrest warrant for heroin possession. The passenger was arrested and brought to jail.

Thursday, Feb. 11

10:52 a.m. Middle Road

Sgt. Locke is investigating a retail theft from a local business. He is attempting to locate the offender.

2:18 p.m. No location disclosed

A citizen called with questions about how to have someone trespassed from her property. Detective Hendry explained the process and spoke with the other party as well. No further assistance was needed.
