A man violating court-ordered conditions for a domestic assault charge was apprehended off Kienle Road after he ran from officers Wednesday afternoon, Milton police said in a news release.
Officers arrested 34-year-old Kevin Moquin of Milton for violating conditions of release after Officer Jareco Coulombe observed him at a North Rd. residence with a woman he was ordered not to contact. He was also driving without a license, police said.
While Officer Coulombe spoke to the woman, Moquin disappeared behind an outbuilding and took off on foot, trekking about three-tenths of a mile through the woods to the area near Kienle Road, police said.
Cpl. Jason Porter and K9 Hatchi arrived and began tracking Moquin along with Milton patrol officers and detectives. Police set up a perimeter near the Oliver Seed store on Sunset Avenue and quickly spotted Moquin through the bare trees.
After a short pursuit on foot, officers apprehended him without incident. No one was injured in the event, police said.
Moquin was lodged at Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility for lack of bail, the news release said. The first-degree aggravated domestic assault case is pending in Chittenden Superior Court – Criminal Division.
