MILTON – On April 20, 1993 Elanie entered this world the daughter of Walter “Chip” Winterbottom Jr. and Cayre-Ayne Santor. On July 5, 2015 she slipped on a rock at Huntington Gorge and was swept away.
Elanie grew to be a vibrant young lady, witty, full of smiles and a giving heart. She attended Essex High School and graduated with high honors from BFA-St. Albans then went on to take courses at community college while working as a waitress and store clerk.
She was adventuresome and curious about life and what the world had to offer, never afraid to try new things.
Elanie leaves her parents; her son, Levi; her sister, Keynesha; grandparents Carla Dewyea, Jan Santor, Walter Winterbottom Sr. and Anita Tolces; her aunts and uncles Katie Caron, Jon Winterbottom, Katelyn Zahn, Kevin, Kyle and Korey Santor and Chris Tolces; as well as her best friend, whom she called “her brother,” Brian Maccione, who so heroically jumped in the water to try to save her.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 10, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Minor Funeral Home, Route 7, in Milton with the Rev. Kevin Kimball officiating. A private burial will be held immediately following the service at South Hero Village Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
