Jon Covey scored a goal in each half, and Nate Dooley came through when called upon in goal for Milton, which shut out Division I South Burlington on Friday, 2-0.

“Milton played a solid game,” coach Glen Button said. “We bent but we didn’t break and defended well. Nate had some huge saves to preserve the win.”

Covey put the Yellowjackets in front with a header in the first half and finished off an assist from Jacob Stuart in the second to double the lead.

Dooley racked up 10 saves for the shutout win in goal for Division II Milton (4-4-1), while So. Burlington (3-3-1) got five saves from Phillip Lyon.

The Yellowjackets returned to action at home Tuesday afternoon when Division I Missisquoi (4-2) visited. Results weren’t available at press time.
