Burr & Burton’s Andy Ishu scored the night’s only goals with a pair on first-period power plays, giving the Bulldogs a 2-0 win over Milton on Saturday night at Highgate Arena.

Milton, which had racked up a tie and three straights wins since last losing on January 2 to first-place U-32, fell to 5-3-2 while Burr & Burton remained fourth, just ahead of the Yellowjackets in the Division II standings at 9-3.

Both of Ishu’s goals came on five-on-three power plays for Burr & Burton, which  finished the night with a 39-24 edge in shots on goal. Milton goaltender Brandon Rhoades made 37 saves while the Bulldogs’ Zach Stewart stopped 24.

Last Wednesday, Skyler Blaney’s overtime goal finished off a third straight win for Milton, which edged St. Johnsbury in Highgate Arena, 4-3.

Seth Amstein had a goal and two assists for Milton, while Jackson Hickey earned a hat trick’s worth of assists. Jared Amstein had the other two goals.

The Yellowjackets improved to 5-2-2 and have won two in a row after a tie. Milton’s lone in-state loss was 2-0 to 10-1 division leader U-32.
