VERGENNES — Nick Johnson and Sam Gebo continued to rack up tournament championships with two more titles in the Bob Benoure Invitational at Vergennes H.S. on Saturday, and Jordan Inman was the beneficiary of an injury to Milton teammate Ki Tedford to take third place.

Tedford was forced out of action when a knee worsened in his second match of the tournament, and he dropped out of that match and forfeited to Inman. That put Inman — who had never placed in a varsity tournament — into the third-place contest, and he pinned Mill River’s Levi Tarbell in 2:18 for the bronze medal and a spot on the podium at 195 lbs.

At 285, Gebo won four straight matches, all via pin with three of those taking less than 45 seconds. Dylan Goodrow of Ausable, N.Y., lasted just 16 seconds in the title bout before being pinned by the BFA-St. Albans wrestler.

Johnson also went 4-for-4, matching Gebo in earning three of his four pins in well under a minute and taking down finals opponent Robert Gordon in 47 seconds at 220 lbs.

At 182 lbs., Jayden Bourne finished fourth with three victories and a default against just two losses. Spaulding’s Noel DeJesus defeated Bourne in the consolation match to take third.

Josh Carner won two of his four contests, while Kevin Anair and Spencer Bidwell each won once. Brennan Champney, Dakota Ames, Eric Godin, Jayden Bradley, Zach Leggatt-Tor, and Tim Bapp also competed for Milton/BFA, each falling in their first two matches.
