Georgia Selectboard Chairwoman Deb Woodward resigned Tuesday night from the board at a capital budget meeting after accepting an offer of employment as the next town administrator Friday.

The board interviewed five candidates and chose Woodward “for numerous reasons,” Selectman Paul Jansen said.

Woodward, a native Georgian, served on the Selectboard for 10 years. She moderated Tuesday night’s meeting as warned. The board will reorganize at its October 22 regular meeting.
