A deer ricocheted onto a pick-up truck, shattering the windshield and landing in the lap of a 15-year-old passenger in the backseat last Wednesday in Georgia.

According to Vermont State Police trooper Andrew Campagne, a van traveling north on Route 104A struck the deer, sending it into the air at about 12:30 on Wednesday, Aug. 21.

The deer landed on the pick-up truck, which was traveling in the opposite lane, going through the windshield.

The driver and passengers in the truck were transported to the hospital with minor injuries and were treated and released, Campagne said.

There was only minor damage to the van, and the driver was able to drive the vehicle home. The pick-up was towed from the scene, as both the front and rear windshields were shattered.
