The Milton Youth Wrestling Club competed Saturday, April 14 in the Vermont Youth Wrestling State championships for grades 3 -6, hosted by the Essex Warriors and held at Essex High School.

Entered for Milton Youth Wrestling were Tabitha Lawrence, Ryder DiMario, Lillian Olson, Camden Brinson, Liam Brinson, Jimi Pierce III, Kain Bacon and team captains Mason Sheltra, Eli Ellingwood and Mia St. Amour.

Twenty teams were entered into the tournament. It was a great day of wrestling, a day full of tough competition and a day to see the best in the state at this level.

When the final whistle sounded, the Milton Youth Wrestling Club had finished seventh in the team competition and had eight of our ten entries make the podium.

Camden Brinson was the team’s highest finisher, earning second place in his weight division. Earning third place finishes were Ryder DiMario, Jimi Pierce III and Mason Sheltra. Team captains Mia St. Amour and Eli Ellingwood battled to fourth place finishes. Liam Brinson and Kain Bacon also placed in fifth and sixth respectively.

The Youth Wrestling championships for the K-2 level will be held next week in St. Johnsbury VT. Go Milton Wrestling!
