Cpl. Chris Grenier located a vehicle parked in the middle of U.S. Route 2. He contacted the operator who was asleep in her vehicle. The operator was tested and determined to not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. She advised she had stopped because she was over-tired. No enforcement action was taken.
3/14, 11:12 a.m., Assist Motorist, East Rd. at Hardscrabble Rd.
Cpl. Scott Philbrook responded to a vehicle off the roadway with no damage. The vehicle was removed.
3/14, 12:53 p.m., Juvenile Problem, Wood Ct.
Officer Ed Larente responded to a report of a juvenile who had left their residence after an argument. Officer Larente located the juvenile and returned him home. He spoke with the family about services available to assist them with their disagreement.
3/14, 9:35 p.m., Suspicious, Middle Rd.
Officer Larente responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked at a local business. He spoke with the occupants and determined they were not engaged in any illegal activity. He explained the concerns of the store employee and they decided to leave.
3/15, 1:21 p.m., Public Assist, Herrick Ave.
Officer William Bosworth assisted school officials with a large group of students who were crossing from the middle school to the high school for an event.
3/15, 5:02 p.m., Motor Vehicle Complaint, Cherry St.
Cpl. Gordon LaFountain spoke with a complainant who wanted to know his rights about removing a vehicle from his property that belonged to another person. Cpl. LaFountain spoke with the other party about removing the vehicle so no tow truck would be needed.
3/15, 8:39 p.m., Arrest on Warrant, Route 7
Officer Jareco Coulombe located a female with an outstanding arrest warrant. The woman was arrested and transported to the correctional center until she could appear in court.
3/16, 11:25 a.m., Juvenile Problem, Route 7

3/16, 3:54 p.m., Public Assist, Manley Rd.
Officer Noi Jones spoke with a complainant about a reported theft of a cell phone. Officer Jones determined the matter was civil, as the parties had entered into a civil agreement for payment of the phone and plan. The complainant was advised of his options.
3/16, 8:52 p.m., Motor Vehicle Complaint, Route 7 at Nancy Dr.
Officer Coulombe responded to a vehicle operating erratically. He located the vehicle at a gas station and spoke with the owner. He determined the operator was not under the influence.
3/17, 3:43 a.m., Intoxication, Route 7
Officer Coulombe responded to a report of a citizen dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend. Both parties were found to be intoxicated. One of the parties had injured themselves accidentally on some broken glass but declined treatment. The parties were separated for the evening, and the man was provided a ride back to his own residence. No crime was reported.
3/17, 4:05 p.m., Suspicious, Murray Ave.
Officer Jones spoke with a complainant about damage to their mailbox. Officer Jones determined the mailbox had merely been knocked over and was not damaged. The mailbox had already been put back in place.
3/17, 8 p.m., Arrest on Warrant, Boysenberry Dr.
Cpl. Grenier served a temporary restraining order on a man and also placed him under arrest on a Vt. Department of Corrections warrant for a parole violation, as well as a separate criminal charge from the Burlington Police Department. The male was transported to Burlington PD for processing and then to corrections for the parole violation.
3/17, 10:14 p.m., Threats/Harassment, Lawnwood Dr.
Officer Coulombe spoke with a complainant about questions they had regarding a child custody situation as well as unwanted comments the other party was making about them on social media. He spoke with them about contacting the courts regarding the custody issue and blocking the person on social media.
3/18, 3:23 p.m., Public Assist, North Rd.
Officer Kendra Raymond spoke with a complainant about questions they had regarding guns. She determined the complaint actually originated in Colchester and transferred the complaint to the Colchester Police Department for further assistance.
3/19, 8:29 a.m., Assist Motorist, Railroad St. at Middle Rd.
Officer Larente assisted a motorist whose vehicle had broken down. He pushed the vehicle out of traffic until the wrecker could arrive and then provided a courtesy ride home to the operator and her dog.
3/19, 9:45 a.m., Motor Vehicle Complaint, Villemaire Ln.
Officer Larente received a complaint about a parent driving their child with a suspended license. He contacted the parent and spoke with them about the incident. He advised of the sanctions and penalties if he was found to be operating without a license in the future.
3/19, 12:13 p.m., DUI, Duffy Rd. at McMullen Rd.
This case is still under investigation, and there is no indication of what charges if any have been issued at this time.
3/19, 2:24 p.m., Juvenile Problem, Rebecca Lander Dr.
Police confiscated a vape pen at Milton High School.
3/19, 4:31 p.m., Suspicious, Route 7
Officer Larente checked on a parent after a welfare check request from the school. He found the parent was fine, and there had been a miscommunication with the school about where the child was supposed to be.
3/19, 10:08 p.m., Suspicious, Route 7 at Middle Rd.
Cpl. LaFountain responded to a report of smoke in the area and determined it was just coming from a chimney.
3/20, 4:50 a.m., Suspicious, Valley View Dr.
Officer Charles Brown responded to a report of a vehicle parked in the roadway. He spoke with the operator who was sleeping in their vehicle. He advised them if they were going to sleep in their car, they needed to pull further off the roadway.
3/20, 11:56 a.m., Motor Vehicle Complaint, Route 7
Officer Larente spoke with the owner of a vehicle that was left in a business parking lot, which the business owner wanted removed. The vehicle owner advised it would be removed shortly.
3/20, 1:45 p.m., Accident – Property Damage, Route 7
Officer Larente responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash with no injuries. Neither party wanted to have a crash report filed.
