To celebrate 50 years of service, Milton Police Department decided to redesign its uniform patch, replacing the one used since 1985.

Cpl. Chris Grenier, a 17-year Milton officer, came up with the selected option in his free time, downloading graphic design software and doing research to bring MPD into the modern age.

The result is a minimalist depiction of Georgia Mountain and Lake Arrowhead, so named for the reflection the mountain casts into the waters below. Grenier said the arrowhead pays tribute to the area’s Iroquois heritage and as a symbol stands for protection, courage and alertness.

“I find all of these stood for what the Milton Police Department stands for,” he said. “I hope it has some small part in showing the incredible honor I’ve had the last 17 years in helping to keep Milton a safe community.”
