VERGENNES — Hunter Goodwin scored five goals and Ian Pelkey added three as Milton rolled to a 15-2 victory over host Vergennes last Thursday to open the boys lacrosse season.

“This was a good start for us on the season,” Milton coach Trevor Wagar said. “I feel like having three weeks of pre-season really helped us to be ready for this game. I am also glad that we have another week to fine tune things before our next game versus Rice, which will be a formidable opponent.”

Milton built a 10-0 lead by halftime, scoring five times in each of the first two periods.
