At right, members of Milton’s fire and rescue crews salute family members of Betty Cross, a longtime Milton EMT, at her funeral on June 25 at St. Ann’s Parish. Affectionately known to many as “Aunt Betty,” Cross died after fighting breast cancer on June 22, the 17th anniversary of her joining Milton Rescue. Above, Milton fire and rescue crews showed in numbers to Cross’ burial at the Milton Village Cemetery. She was transported there in the ambulance, and Asst. Chief Rod Moore paid final respects by signing off her call number, 633, for the last time.
