Ferro leads Milton XC showing

COLCHESTER — Senior Mike Ferro led another strong outing for the Milton cross country team, wth the Yellowackets cruising to first place in a seven-team boys race last Wednesday after placing three of the first five runners.

Ferro won the 5K competition in 18 minutes, 33.1 seconds, 23 seconds in front of teammate and runner-up Zach Popke. Tim Dockham came in third, Mike McNeil 11th, and Casey Langdeau 23rd to finish the Division II Yellowjackets’ scoring with 39 points, well ahead of D-I Burlington (55).

Angela Lazarro led the Milton girls in seventh.

On Saturday, Ferro ran to sixth place in the Burlington Invitational, the state’s largest and most-competitive cross country meet.
