Rates: The Independent charges for obituaries using the following scale:
- First 600 words and photo: FREE
- Thereafter: $0.25 per word and $5 per extra photo
Committal notices and in memoriam with accompanying photos are free of charge, using the editor’s discretion that the submission is an appropriate length.
Deadlines: Please email all notices to email@example.com by Mondays at noon. We cannot guarantee placement of any obituary submitted on a Tuesday. Please include the funeral home's contact person for verification.
