Ryan Brown’s hat trick provided most of the scoring as Milton ran its unbeaten streak to eight games, earning a 4-1 victory over Middlebury on Saturday.

Along with Brown scoring three goals for the second time in the team’s five ctober matches, Carson Bianchi added a score for the Yellowjackets. Alex Dooley had to make just three saves for the win.

In a 7-0-1 stretch since a Sept. 17 loss at Colchester, Milton has allowed just seven goals while scoring 27.

Henry Hodde scored on a second-half penalty kick for Middlebury (3-5-3) and Santiago Fernandez made seven saves.

Both Yellowjackets soccer teams entered the final week of the regular season atop the Division II rankings. The Milton boys (9-2-1) close their schedule with a trip to Missisquoi on Friday. The girls (10-2) played to a 0-0 tie against Middlebury last week and finish at MVU on Saturday before opening the playoffs aiming at a second straight state championship.
