Bianchi 14th in N.E. 400

NORWELL, Mass. — Milton’s two relay teams finished the track season with strong runs in the New England Interscholastic Track & Field Championships last Saturday, and junior Carson Bianchi finished just out of the top half of the field in the 400 meters.

Bianchi, Division II state champ in the 400 two years running, finished 14th in 51.18 seconds — his second-best career time, eclipsed only by his New England Qualifier 50.46 last month. Bianchi also placed 22nd in the 200 meters last Saturday in Norwell.

The 4×100 relay team of Bianchi, Emilio Desouza, Jarek Cyr and Tre Sherwood finished 28th out of 29 entrants, beating D-I St. Johnsbury. In the 4×400 Milton’s Bianchi, Zach Popke, Cyr and Desouza were 29th of 32, ahead of Burlington and St. Johnsbury.
