ESSEX — Essex finished first in three of the four events in last Saturday’s gymnastics state championships, beating out Champlain Valley Union for the Hornets 12th straight state title. Cassidy Button led Milton in points and rebounds Monday night as the Yellowjackets won for the third time in five games, 42-37 over Mt. Abraham. WATERBURY — Cam Goodrich and Noah Perry capitalized on two of Mt. Mansfield’s four second-period penalties, scoring 1:09 apart to add a cushion in Milton’s 4-1 victory over the Cougars.
