NORTH SPRINGFIELD – Marge, wife of Leonard M. Bartley, died at the Springfield Health & Rehab Center on Sunday Aug. 7 at age 81. The daughter of Hyland R. and Bernice I. (Olney) Lamphere, Marge was born in West Burke on May 26, 1935, while her father was serving at Camp Willoughby in the Civil Conservation Corps. She grew up and lived most of her life in North Springfield, where her mother’s family had lived since the 1780s. District: Preavys’ claims lack merit

Attorneys for Milton Town School District filed a lengthy motion this week, asking the Vermont Superior Court to rule in its favor and forgo a trial in last fall’s football hazing lawsuit. The 23-page motion for summary judgment, along with 83 pages of supporting material, seeks to convince the court a reasonable jury could not find in favor of the plaintiffs, Sean and Karen Preavy and Tracy Stopford, parents of the late hazing victim Jordan Preavy.
