UPDATED: Wednesday, 4/1, 5:22 p.m. Milton police have arrested the man they say stole a truck from a local business last week. Zachary Rose, 25, of Milton was cited with felony aggravated operation of a motor vehicle without owner’s consent on April 1, Detective Cpl. Paul Locke said. Police say Rose stole an unlocked work truck from Milton’s Building Home Center at 280 Route 7 South around 2:45 p.m. on March 27. Beliveau case stalls

The state’s case against the remaining defendant in the football hazing case will be delayed almost two months since officers didn’t meet a deadline in preparation for trial, a Vermont Superior Court judge decided on Friday. Milton man sentenced for stolen firearms

A federal judge sentenced a Milton man to 48 months in prison for possession of stolen firearms, the U.S. Dept. of Justice announced Wednesday. Scott Taylor, 21, also faces three years of supervised release following his prison sentence. In January 2014, the Independent reported Taylor and co-defendant Kyle Tetreault, then 23, of Ferrisburgh, were cited for a string of burglaries in three counties. The duo traded stolen firearms to an out-of-state drug dealer to support heroin addictions, the DOJ said.
