A former football player in the ongoing Milton hazing case will face an upgraded felony charge in court next week. Brandon Beliveau was cited for attempted sexual assault on Tuesday, Dec. 30 for allegedly attacking a teammate on school property in 2011, his attorney, Tim Fair, said. He’ll be arraigned on Tuesday, Jan. 6. Fair was uncertain whether this will replace the current simple assault charge, a misdemeanor to which two co-defendants just pleaded guilty this month in exchange for an 18-month deferred sentence. Documents filed in federal court on Tuesday indicate the Milton man arrested on a federal firearms charge this week is a member of a prison-affiliated white supremacist group. Christopher A. Pappano, 54, a convicted felon, was taken into custody on federal charges Monday, Dec. 29 after authorities found a .45 caliber pistol at his Lamoille Terrace home, violating federal law, Vermont State Police said. Five law enforcement agencies conducted a search warrant in Milton on Monday, turning up a felon who they say was unlawfully possessing firearms. Police arrested Christopher A. Pappano, 54, of Milton after searching his Lamoille Terrace residence, a Vermont State Police press release said. Pappano, a convicted felon, was cited with federal firearms violations and will be arraigned on the charges in U.S. District Court on Tuesday, police said.
